    The Chinese Maritime Customs Service was an international, although predominantly British-staffed bureaucracy (at senior levels) under the control of successive Chinese central governments from its founding in 1854, until 1950 when the last foreign Inspector-General resigned.
    The project has prepared a database of the career details for all staff listed in the annually-published Service List. (See also the details of 125 careers which published by the Customs in the late 1930s).

Content includes passenger lists, almanacs, Blue Books, electoral rolls, government gazettes, police gazettes and post office directories. The Ireland section includes will indexes, directories, cemetery transcriptions, land records and more. The largest collection is Irish prison records which includes information on over 3.5 million people. Most coverage for the United Kingdom is for England and Wales, including 1841-1911 census records. Census transcriptions for Scotland for 1841 through to 1901 are also available.   55. The project identifies Nyungar placenames and meanings prior to colonial settlement and makes available a number of resources for public educational use. The South-West, known as Nyungar Boodjar to Nyungar people, is described by the west coast on its western side and an approximate line running from Esperance through Nungarin to Geraldton on its eastern side. The area is divided into 14 separate but interconnected language regions that are used as grouping categories for the Nyungar language names identified in this project. The areas are: Wudjari, Koreng, Pibelmen, Wardandi, Njunga, Ngakinjaki, Balardong, Juat, Amangu, Minang, Kaneang, Wilman, Pinjarup and Kaneang.

    Record emigrants selected by the Colonization Commissioners, London, whose passages were paid for out of the Emigration Fund. The lists typically give passengers' names, and most give ages, occupation and marital status, while some give county of origin. Not all lists have survived.
