  1. John Grenham, the Irish professional genealogist and author, has links to a large number of useful Irish family history websites. There are links to each county in Ireland leading you to sites with information on censuses, church registers, cemeteries, Griffith's Valuation, directories and more. There are also passenger lists and links to family history pages by surname.

  2. Findmypast is a subscription site which is available to use for no charge within the State Library of Western Australia building. It contains material relating to the United Kingdom and Ireland and all Australian states and New Zealand with a small amount of content for the Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea. The Australian states with the largest amount of material are Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Content includes passenger lists, almanacs, Blue Books, electoral rolls, government gazettes, police gazettes and post office directories. The Ireland section includes will indexes, directories, cemetery transcriptions, land records and more. The largest collection is Irish prison records which includes information on over 3.5 million people. Most coverage for the United Kingdom is for England and Wales, including 1841-1911 census records. Census transcriptions for Scotland for 1841 through to 1901 are also available. Top content includes births, marriages and deaths including overseas BMDs, armed forces BMDs and BMDs at sea; UK outgoing passenger lists 1890-1960 and British Army service records (also known as Chelsea Pensioner records) 1760-1913.

  3. This website contains images from the NLI’s collection of Catholic parish register microfilms. The registers contain records of baptisms and marriages from the majority of Catholic parishes in Ireland and Northern Ireland up to 1880. You may search under a Parish name - or explore via the map.

  4. An ongoing endeavour to make the registers of baptism, marriage and burial from Church of Ireland parishes available in a digital format. The online version is hosted by the Representative Church Body Library, which will periodically introduce new transcripts of parish registers.
    At time of writing this project is still very new but Delgany (Glendalough)Co. Wicklow is available along with Newtownbarry, Co. Wexford. Check the index volume in order to find individuals in the registers.

  8. This website from the Irish Family History Foundation includes a searchable database where you can search over 18 million Irish parish register transcriptions. Register first and searching is free but you will need to pay to see the full record. Please note that not all counties are covered.
