  2. Transcriptions and photographs of gravestones from Jewish cemeteries. Most are in London, with one each in Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Yorkshire and Hong Kong. A lot of additional information on individuals has been included from other sources. This site allows you to find International Genealogical Index(IGI) batch numbers for towns and villages in the British Isles and North America. You can also search the IGI for a surname within a specific town or village.

  6. The Inner Temple Admissions Database provides biographical information about past members of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, one of the four London-based Inns of Court.   8. The Irish in Europe Project, founded in NUI Maynooth in 1997, promotes scholarly research on Irish migration to continental Europe in the early modern period. It currently hosts biographical information on about 40,000 Irish migrants, mainly soldiers but also men who had to leave Ireland in order to study for the priesthood.

Coverage dates for RMA Woolwich are 1790-1793, 1799-1805 and 1820-1939. Coverage dates for RMC Sandhurst are 1800-1946. There are also some staff registers. Brief details are given and the digitised image from the register can be downloaded for a small fee.

The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database has information on more than 35,000 slave voyages that forcibly embarked over 12 million Africans for transport to the americas between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries.   25. The term “United Empire Loyalists” (often referred to as UEL) refers to the American colonists who remained loyal to the British Crown during the American Revolution, and many of which fought for Britain during that conflict. They fled the United States and settled in what are now the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Ontario. All the archives in these provinces hold records relating to Loyalists, some of which are searchable online.

  40. This application provides a fully searchable placename index to the Valuation Revision Books (VAL/12/B) covering counties Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry and Tyrone between the years 1864 to 1933. In total, c.3,900 volumes were digitally captured, with over 440,000 images now available to view online.
    The digital application is searchable by Placename (City, County, Parish, Townland) or PRONI Reference. The cities of Londonderry and Belfast have been indexed to Street and Ward level. Streets can be found by using the free text search.
