British and Irish Furniture Makers Online (BIFMO) is a searchable and freely accessible online database, comprising the Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, 1660-1840, and London Joiners’ Company apprenticeship bindings and freedom admissions, 1640-1720. A collaboration between the Furniture History Society (FHS) and the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), the first phase of this project has developed the database thanks to generous funding from the Furniture History Society and its membership.     Dublin Directory 1647-1708 - a database of Dubliners compiled from a variety of sources.
    Ancient freemen of Dublin (1461 to 1491, and 1564 to 1774) - a database of all those on the who were entered into the Freedom of the City by the City Assembly.
    Dublin City Electoral Lists 1908 to 1915 - a database of all those registered to vote in municipal elections.
    Dublin City Electoral Lists 1938 to 1964 - a database of all those registered to vote in local elections
    Dublin Graveyards Directory - a database with details of all graveyards in the Dublin area.
    Cemetery Burial Registers (Clontarf, Drimnagh, and Finglas) - a database of those buried in three now closed cemeteries which are under the control of Dublin City Council.

On this website you will find not only many extracts of Births, Marriages, Deaths etc transcribed from various newspapers but also various news stories, book extracts, church records, records of deceased seamen and the names of over 25,000 Presbyterians who served during the Great War of 1914-1919.

    While in the News Extracts section the Birth, Marriage and Death transcriptions may be of the most immediate interest to those researching their family history there is a wealth of information contained in the general "clippings" which include court reports, inquests, subscriptions lists (some of which contain 100s of names) and many other items of general historic and social interest.

  62. Archives 1914-1918: during the First World War, 10 million people, servicemen or civilians, were captured and sent to detention camps.
    The belligerent countries involved provided lists of prisoners to the ICRC, wich created an index card for each prisoner and detainee. Now, you can search through all 5 million of them.
