It includes a section on how to research a nurse, lists the recipients of medals, lists hospitals in the UK and more. There is also the World War One diary of the matron-in-chief of the British Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders.

  2. Contains information about nursing in the Boer War and details about the locations of hospitals in South Africa and elsewhere. The research section gives ideas and advice for anyone trying to find information about nurses who served in the war. The database holds details on approximately 2000 nurses who were in South Africa during the Boer War. There is also a Blog run by four nurse historians with an interest in the Boer War.

  3. The RCN Archives contain some of the most important collections dedicated to the history of the nursing profession in the UK. Everyone is welcome to access this unique resource.
    The majority of records relate to the work and history of the Royal College of Nursing, and include images, recordings and objects. The RCN also holds collections from other nursing organisations and private individuals. These collections include badges, postcards, files and photographs. The RCN Archives also hold RCN library journal stock more than 25 years old.
